No Time To Knit

August 7, 2007

Well, I didn’t get too much knitting done this weekend. On Saturday Nathan & I went over to his brother’s place for a cookout. He cooked some of the fish they caught in Alaska, but there were enough people there that by the time we went for food, the fish was all gone. Oh well, it’s not like we don’t have about 50 POUNDS of fish left!! :)

On Sunday we had to go up to Brighton to Nathan’s parents house. We didn’t stay very long because Nathan had a meeting for work in the evening. We did get to spend a little time with his parents and 2 nephews (ages 7 & 3). Nathan brought them each some temporary tattoos from Alaska and they had fun picking out the ones they wanted to put on their arms & legs :)

I did finish knitting my Girly Bag on Sunday. I figured out the 3 needle bind-off, which was pretty easy but a little awkward with my long, slippery needles! I think next time I’ll try this bind-off with a crochet hook instead. I’m still working on knitting the flower. I almost had it done on Sunday, but then dropped a stitch (that had been a k2tog or p2tog), so I wasn’t able to fix it. I just started over on the flower last night. I’m hoping to find some purse handles and fabric for the lining today. Maybe tonight I can get a few pictures.

I have too much stuff to do tonight, so I’m not going to Knit Night with the Arvada Knitters tonight :( But, I want to finish knitting the Girly Bag flower and also wind Mary-Kay’s yarn tonight so I can start the Chevron Scarf! And, of course, I’m still working on Tomato. I haven’t worked on this one very much, so I need to get going!
