Since I’ve never tried the Magic Loop method before, I decided I should make the practice socks from 2-at-a-Time Socks before I use my lovely sock yarn.

The book suggests using 2 different colors so you don’t get confused about which sock you’re working on. I had this Peaches & Cream yarn that was begging to be knit into something:

The first few rows were pretty awkward, but then I got the hang of it! Of course, these are child-size socks, and I haven’t gotten to the heel yet, but so far, so good :D

I’m making rather slow progress on the Hourglass Sweater:

Yarn from Plain & Fancy Sheep & Wool Co.

After finishing the decrease rows, I realized I made a mistake on 1 side, but I’m far enough past that part that I’m not going back to fix it! I figure no one will really notice it anyway, since it’s along the side of the sweater.

Here’s the next project I’d like to start:

2-at-a-time Socks

I’ve been wanting to knit socks for quite a while. Since I don’t really like using DPNs, I thought the Magic Loop would be a good technique to learn. And, while I’m at it, I might as well learn how to knit 2 socks at once, right?

Here’s my progress so far on the Hourglass Sweater:

I actually started it before the Koolhaas hat, but when I finished the hat I realized my gauge was off, so I frogged the sweater (I only had about 10 rows done) and cast on with larger needles.

I love how the color changes :)
