Nathan brought home some new cat beds the other night. He’s such a sweetie! I couldn’t wait to see how the cats would like them, so I just put them on the floor. Charlie was the first to check them out and she decided to take the larger bed. Of course, Kennedy couldn’t be left out, so she got in the smaller one.

They both look pretty funny in the “wrong” beds, but they got quite comfortable. I love how Kennedy has her paw up by her face.

Charlie appears to be sinking into the bed. They both stayed in the beds most of the night. In the morning we switched Kennedy’s old bed with the new large bed and put the smaller new bed on the chair that Charlie’s been sleeping on. Hopefully that will stop Kennedy from stealing Charlies’ bed and leaving Charlie with nothing!

Happy Whiskers on Wednesday

A while back, moderncat had a post with some adorable little sculptured kitties from Endless Whimsy. Well, of course I had to check out her Etsy shop, and I may have purchased a few sculptures.

Initially, I was just going to buy this one, because I LOVE the sparkle!

Then I saw there was a special sculpture to help Daisy raise money for the Homeless Animal Rescue Team. This fundraiser donated $4 and a can of food for each pink sculpture sold,  so I had to help out.

I also couldn’t pass up these adorable black kitties!

What I really love is that Endless Whimsy is a member of Etsy for Animals and she donates 10% of all her sales to the Homeless Animal Rescue Team. There are a lot of cute sculptures in her shop right now, so check them out! She also takes custom orders and does dog sculptures, too

We have entered our basset hound, Lucy Dog, in her very first waddle! What is a waddle you ask? The rescue we got Lucy from (Guardian Angel Basset Rescue) hosts an annual waddle every September. Bassets come from the tri-state area to waddle 10 blocks down the street!! Last year they had over 800 bassets! This update will be a fund raising event for Lucy Dog’s Waddle. For each bag sold that is marked “Bags for the Waddle” 100% of the proceeds will be donated to GABR and will be used to sponsor Lucy Dog.

If you’re interested, you can also donate money through their firstgiving page. I know I’ll be making a donation! And I can’t wait to see more pictures of Lucy and the Waddle!

So I’ve actually been doing quite a bit of knitting lately! I had a nice amount of time to knit Saturday in between washing loads of laundry. Charlie was happy to sit on my lap. For a little bit I had both cats on my lap, but luckily Kennedy decided our bed would be more comfortable. It’s kind of hard knitting with 2 cats on your lap!

I think Charlie was slightly annoyed that I got up to take care of the laundry! I was actually contemplating whether or not I should put my knitting in the bag before leaving Charlie al0ne with it.

As you can see, she got quite comfortable sleeping on the bag, and stayed there for the rest of my knitting time.

Isn’t she the cutest!?! I’m working on the front of Salina (Rav link), and I’m hope to finish it by this weekend. Then I’ll attempt to knit both sleeves at the same time and hopefully have a nice sweater this fall!

It wasn’t quite as hot this weekend as it has been lately, so on Sunday the cats enjoyed spending some time outside. Although you can’t see it too well, our landscaping was completed a few months ago and it looks so nice in the courtyard now!

For some reason, Kennedy really likes lying on the bathmat when we get ready in the morning. Nathan thought she looked so comfy the other day that all she needed was a little ‘blanket’ to complete the look. Ahhhh…this is the life

You may have notices a theme with Kennedy – she’s very practiced in the art of lounging!
