June is Adopt-A-Cat Month!

Check out the American Humane site for more information:

Approximately 4 million cats end up in shelters every year, including thousands born every spring and summer during “kitten season.” To help promote adoptions of these fun, affectionate animals, American Humane celebrates Adopt-A-Cat Month each June.

Help spread the word! Every cat adopted from the shelter is another life saved :)

Happy Whiskers on Wednesday!

  1. I wish I had a photo of my shelter cat from my pre-allergic 20s. Socrates was quite a character!!

  2. I ditto everyone’s sentiments here. I will never have another cat. The last cat we had just ruined me for any others. I really love cats. The last cat we “owned” was Bob. He just started hanging around. He was a neighborhood cat for years. We took him in. At first he scratched me bad enough to need medical treatment. He was afraid. He had never been loved. We got him fixed. Bob started coming in to the house, then finally into our arms and hearts. Husband told me that when I was taken by paramedics to the hospital one time, Bob was sitting next to my shoulder. Late last year old Bob walked away, most likely to pass away, sparing us the pain of missing him. He did not. We miss him so much. Bob taught us so much about trust and love.
